June Show n Tell

 Hi, well i missed May sorry, here is June so enjoy some lovely quilts.

This is called Pladish Quilt, pattern by Lo & Behold Stitchery. Maker of this quilt is Belinda and was made for her Dad's 80th birthday.  Quilted by John Nielson.


These are Hemingway Pouches , made by Carol. They are a quilted pouch with a diagonal zipper. Carol made these as her demo models.


Here is a colourful quilt by Frances.  She has called it Fun With Crumbs.  It was made from a quilt she saw on U Tube Missouri Star Triple Play, a crumb quilt.


Geese In The Garden and was made by Lesley.  She made it in a class that several members did at Fox's Cottage, I'm probably the last to get it together, she said.

This is called Postage Stamp and the blocks were by
Trish Souness, the top pieced by Mary Sammons and quilted by Helen P. It is a quilt for Te Awhina.


Maureen Little made this quilt, called Mardi Gras.  It has been quilted by John Nielson.  It was a block of the week, made over a year ago. Designed by Katherine Kerr and won a ribbon in the recent Capital Quilt show, The Mayors "Choice.


Another by Maureen, titled Citrus Pizzazz. She hand quilted this one.  Was a mystery quilt published in the Quilt Mania Magazine called Marshall by Jen Kingwell.  This quilt won best hand quilting in the Capital Quilt show.  Well done Maureen.

This is another by Belinda. titled Pirouette Quilt and the pattern source is By Tales of Cloth. She hand pieced it and it has been quilted by John Nielson.  This was stitched in 5 months at the start of 2024. She had sick girls at home and they chose the colour progression.  It is the first floral quilt Belinda has ever made.

This is Annette's Book Pouch, even has a nice label on it. After seeing a demonstration, she made this and finds it very handy to just throw your book pod into your handbag to read anywhere.


The name of this quilt is Ashbourne Mill, pattern source is Katrina Hadjanichael. and it was made by Yvonne Moore.  Yvonne has been doing foundation piecing for the last year and this is a progress show n tell.  She has several borders to go to complete the circles and a round of flying geese to finish.


Ocean Stripes, another top by Mary Sammons and quilted by Helen P and is donated to
Te Awhina.

This is titled Nine Patch Meet Postage Stamp. Postage Stamps made by Trish Souness, top completed by Helen P and also quilted by Helen.  The remaining postage stamps, from previous quilt,used as a border and is a quilt for Te Awhina.

A small iron bag by Annette Bourne.  Annette was lucky enough to been offered a small iron and she has used it a lot this month so made it it's own bag.


A table runner called Summer Delight by Annette.  She watched her friend Carol piece her table runner at a half nighter, so thought... I could do that, she loves the colours but thinks the pattern is lost amongst the colours.




No Such Thing As An Innocent Cat, pattern source Griet Lombard.  Machine pieced and quilted by Judy Potts and was made for her cat mad 8 year old Grandaughter.

April Show n tell

 Here are a wonderful collection of Baby Quilts for our local hospital made by Trish Souness.  This is her favourite project and it uses up her stash.







Maia Rose's Quilt, made by Frances for her 1st Great Grand daughter.  She was born 01.12.2023

And the back is super as well. 


A very colourful  bag by Gail Jory, it is made up of prairie points from a jelly roll.


These words are by Sue Elliot and are from Kirsty Lea Quiet Play pattern. Sue is going to put them onto canvas blocks.

Veronica made this Tiki wall hanging at Retreat.  It was one of the late Heather's patterns.
 

A lovely scrap baby quilt by Madeline.  Just using up scraps and it will be donated to our hospital.

And another by Madeline, it also will go to the hospital.
 


These are Bassinet Covers by Penny Hahon.  She was donated beautiful vintage handkerchiefs so turned them into these delightful covers. She has hand stitched them all down.
 

This hand stitched item is by Carol Burgess and is a Donna Heidler Pattern.  It has been on the go for awhile and Carol is going to get it framed.  It is called Cemetery Hill.

"Jelly roll Gem" by Linda Snelling Berg. A very large quilt and is for her Nephew who wanted a similar one as his Brothers.  Linda had purchased too many jelly rolls years ago but did have similar gem stones but different back grounds.  It has been quilted by Helen Pedersen.

This sweet Unicorn toy, made from felt, is by Mary Sammons.



These are a selection of bags and apples made from patterns in our newsletter.


 



This is a "Go Annie" pattern and was made by Rosie Neilson in Tula Pink Fabric. She made it at Retreat. Sandra helped her and it was a long slow process but she is very pleased with the result.

March Show n Tell

 A bit late but here is the March blog.

Not too sure who made this lovely cot quilt.

Flamingos was made by Madeline and is a Baby quilt.

This is a Messenger Bag and was made by Diane Harries and she made it at a Fox's Cottage class.  It is collage/applique under tulle.  To the side of the bag is an apple pin cushion with a dandelion stem for the stalk.


These pages are part of a mystery quilt by Laundry Basket.  A 6 inch block, one block every week for a year. Frances is making this quilt, will be interesting to see the progress.

This neat quilt is by Donna and is called Geese in the Garden.  It was a class she attended in February at Fox's Cottage and was run by Luchelle.


This is Bobbin Lace and called Charlotte Edging by Mary Daniel, very pretty.


Lisa's Cuddle Rug and was made by Penny Mahon and quilted by Helen P. It was made for her daughter.





I do not appear to have a written label for these quilts so sorry i can not give credit to who made them but they are all lovely works of art.
