August Show and Tell 2013

 

Only a small showing this month but still very interesting.

Here is Barbara's bed quilt finally finished. It was a mystery quilt project started in 2004.

 

Frances showed her "eyeball" material.

Bep showed her lovely camellia wall hanging she made at Taupo Symposium.

I also went to Robbi Eklow's class, "Free Expression Buffet"

 

 

We also had a guest Tutor, Clare Smith, teaching us her Cabbage Tree and flax bush projects. Here are a selection of what we all did. This class was held at St. John's Ambulance rooms.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

On the Sunday Clare took a Sashiko class. Again a look at what they were working on.

Show and Tell July 2013

This is a bag that Lyn made for her Women's Institute competition.  She scored a 7/10 for it. Well done.

June Show and Tell

First up was a colourful Table runner by Doreen Kendrick.

 

 

Pat Saunders showed us her Scrap Quilt, a great way to use scraps up.

 

 

 

This one is called Disappearing Nine Patch made from a 4 inch wide fabric pack.  This belongs to Barbara Clarke.

 

 

 

Jenny Rattenbury and her Husband Rob have just celebrated their 40th Wedding Anniversay (Congratulations) and she made this wall hanging for him.

 

 

 

This next quilt by Jenny Worsley has been named "Judy Potts Quilt". We both discovered that we were doing the same quilt but Jenny was only going to do 12 stitchery blocks instead of 24 but I kept encouraging her to continue and now she is pleased she did.

Jenny has been busy, she started this one about 3 or 4 years ago and has just had it quilted.

Audrey Tizard made this cot quilt for her Grandson

Another by Audrey, this time a Christmas Tree skirt made for her Son & Daughter in Law. It is made up of stitched Christmas elves. She is very organised for next Christmas!!

Here are a couple of ink cards by Amy Beswarick. She is teaching how to make these at The Cloth Shop in Palmerston North. They are an example of colour placement and 3D.

 

 

The next lot of quilts are by Maureen Little and they will become Community Quilts.  She went through her quilt stash. I think we all have a pile like this!
