November Show n Tell

 We had our Annual General Meeting this month and a new committee was formed, a mix of previous committee members and some new people which is always pleasing to see.  


There was also a Life Time Badge presented to Carol Burgess for outstanding service to Cotton On Quilters.

 Carol attended a Donna Ward class at Symposium, an intro to foundation paper piecing, called "Free Wheeling"

And also a free motion quilting class, also by Donna Ward, called fillers for spaces



This is a Bonnie Hunter Mystery Quilt 2023/2024 and was made by Jenny Harris.

This is the back of the next Bonnie Hunter Mystery Quilt and is by Frances Henderson


This is Mary Sammons Mystery Bonnie Hunter quilt.

Donna is the maker of this Bonnie Hunter quilt and Helen P quilted it and Donna has donated it to Helen for the Te Awhina Community Quilts Project.

Bonnie Hunter's Indigo Way by Helen P and quilted by Helen P and is for the Te Awhina quilt Project.

"Baby Blocks" made by Maureen L and quilted by Helen P for the Te Awhina Quilt Project.

This quilt is called Orange and Stripes and was made by Helen P and quilted by her. She used batting from the Goodie Bag at Symposium and 2 jelly rolls from spotlight and used the Quilt as you go method.

Kiwi Postcards is the name of this quilt and was made by Helen P and is for the Te Awhina quilt Project.

This is Diamond Painting by Kim Harrison  and is her first attempt at diamond painting and it was started in 2007, well done on completing it Kim.


This was a club challenge from a few years ago by Diana Jones.

Another by Diana and was a Sue Spargo project, hand stitched birds. A lot of work goes into these projects.

Diana had also completed these two hand stitched Sashiko panels.

Yvonne Moore named this wall hanging Kawandi.  Started in a Symposium class with Lorena Uriate from Sydney.  She supplied the kit, and has turned under edges and hand stitched.

Another by Yvonne Moore, called Annah Stretton dolls pram quilt. She unpicked a couple of mug mats from her Symposium goodie bag as the fabric was so pretty and practiced machine quilting with a straight ruler.

This quilt is named Scrap 9 Patches and is by Yvonne Moore and was made from her shoe box of pre cut squares, organised all sorts!

Here is a  selection of Little Blankets of Love for the Babies by Trish Souness.  Using all the cute pieces of fabric and creating is something enjoyable for her and she has donated 42 of these little beauties this year.



Diana Hay made this wall hanging, called NZ Fern.

Veronica has completed her Sashiko Panel.  Beautiful work.

This is an Un- named as Yet quilt by Annette Bourne.  Quilted by Lesley O'Rourke of Quarry burn Quilting.  Was a round Robin Run by Carey Hackett in 2009.  A final border was put on in 2004 and sent away for quilting and finished in November 2004.


"Persian Paisly" by Maureen Little.  Was an embroidery class with Jenny Hunter and Maureen laced and framed the project herself.


This is a little zipped birdie bag by Frances Henderson.  Very cute.
