December 2015 Show n Tell

 
Here is a Kiwiana table runner put together by Rosie N.
 

 
A front and a back view of a beautiful black silk Kimono given to Heather by her Aunty, who had had it for many years.  It has been handstitched!!
 
 
Phillipa H. has made this blue & white child's quilt.  It looks very modern.
 
 
Maureen 1st showed us a bag received from her past quilting group which was celebrating their 30th anniversary and she has taken the Bears Paw Pattern inspiration from that bag.  Maureen has used Amish/Debbie Munn colours. It is a large quilt.

The label was nicely decorated as well.
 
 
This very colourful Windmills quilt was made by Carol B.
 
 
Bep has made a couple of snow doves to decorate the Christmas Tree.
 
 This is her Christmas Tree wall hanging.
 
 
Bep found this cushion at a garage sale and decorated it with the candlewicking.
 
 
Madeline has been very busy making this Kaleidoscope Quilt for her Niece. It is a wedding gift. It was machine quilted for her by Helen P.

A wedding Garter was a tatting project for Judy Ar.
 
 
Judy is very talented, she also made this lovely selection of greeting cards which is to be some lucky person's Christmas Present.

November Show n Tell.


Rosie showed us the 4 blocks she has made for our club's "Block of the month" project

 Judy A. made this beautiful 50th Wedding Anniversary Embroidery Block for Bep.  We were all treated to a lovely morning tea from Bep, it was yummy!
 
 
 Maria showed us block no. 23 of her Baltimore Quilt that she is doing. Beautiful work.
 
 
 This lovely Fairy Heart Quilt is for Vanda's 5yr old Granddaughter. I am sure she will be delighted.
 
 
 This lovely Christmas table cloth is off to Australia for Barbra's Daughter.
 
 
Madeline has completed her Mary Transome symposium project. Well done.

 Pat has made a lovely pansy quilt, Beautiful colours
.
 
 This quilt was made by Alison and she attended a Griet Lombard class at Symposium.
 
 
 Carol has stitched a lovely Christmas wall hanging.  She enjoyed it so much she has made one for all her family!!
 
 
Veronica has made a brilliant Star Wars quilt for her twin Grandson.
 
 
And of course she has had to make a second quilt. Her other twin Grandson is mad on Lions. A beautiful quilt.

 
 Maureen has made these beautiful leaf placemats. they are very striking.
 


 
Maureen converted a "Paper Doll" quilt panel into an activity book.
 




 


Griet Lombard held a workshop recently for our club and these are a selection of some of our work. Some of us have only achieved a few blocks so far but others have really excelled themselves!!  It was called "My Winter Garden" and we all loved the class.
 
 
 Lidy showed us how she has made her blocks into mini postcards.
 
 
 A bonus of the class was that we used the fancy stitches on our machines. Some ladies had never used them before. Lesley showed us a sample she made up of the stitches on her machine, a very good reference tool!
 
 
 
Judy Ar. has made a bag to transport her stitchery projects.
 
 
 

 
At the end of our meeting Carol was presented with a plaque and a pot plant in recognition of her outstanding service to our club. "Congratulations" Carol.

October 2015 Show n Tell


Rosie N. is sorted for Christmas!  Beautiful stitching.

Lesley McF completed this jellyroll while watching the rugby.


Jenny R has made this Owl quilt for her Mother's 90th birthday. I am sure she will enjoy having it.


Maria N made this lovely bag at a class at Amy's new quilt shop in Palmy. It seemed to have lots of compartments.


This pretty dress has been made by Frances H for one of her Grandaughters.


Rosalie C. has completed this block, which is called School House Block.  It is a work in progress!


Dianna J. has a lucky Grandson, she has made this Digger Panel into a quilt for him.


Pat S. made this colourful quilt.


Donna B. has finished this table runner which was started as a kit by Kerry and she has given it to Kerry's Husband Paul.


Donna B. has completed the COQ Challenge Quilt that was run by Maureen & Veronica. Lovely background material.

Carol B also has a new Niece or Nephew arriving and is well prepared with this lovely cot quilt.


Jeanette C. has completed this wall hanging that was started by her daughter 15yrs ago!


While at a recent retreat Veronica D. completed this beautiful table runner.

Vanda made this jelly roll quilt, with a twist, for her 16yr old Niece. I am sure she will love this bright quilt.


This lovely cross stitch panel has been made into a bag by Keitha.

Keitha has also made this scrap quilt. A lovely design.


Carol also attended a retreat and was very busy.  She made this Minnion. Very cute.


These are little pull up bags, very cute and were made by the ladies at the retreat.


Carol made these pleat bowls.

This is a toilet bag, I think, and sorry I have forgotten who made it.!!
