July show & tell

 We did something a little different this month, we had a colour theme for show & tell and the colour was red
 
 
these runners are by Lesley and were made in memory of her trip to her Aunties 90th Birthday in England.
 

 
Here are two Christmas wall-hangings by Madeline.
 
 
This wall hanging is called Yellow to Blue: "Have you seen Red?" and is by Helen P, It was made for the Aotearoa Quilters Red Challenge for 2013.
 
 
Kathleen E. made this table runner, pattern was from The Cloth Shop.
 

Sue E. made this at the Taupo Symposium.

 
This stunning quilt is called Fireball, made by Maureen M. It was made from a magazine pattern and she read the instructions wrong and enlarged it by 150%!!! hence the size.  It has been to world quilts in America.
 
 
Another by Maureen M., called Pohutakawa. The pattern was bought at a quilt show in 2011 and she has just finished it.

This is called "Love of Dad" by Jeanett. It is in memory of her Dad.

"Making Spirits Bright" also by Lynda. Stitched with gold thread, never again she said, it is terrible to stitch with!
 
 
"Roses" by Frances. It was started in 2001, from a very small photo in a APQ Magazine. She graphed it up and changed the colour/design/size. What's new? very Frances!!!

"Maddieds Bed Runner" by Lesley. Maddie has had a liver transplant at the age of 10yrs. Maddie has a bright orange wall so hope this matches it.
 
 
A cuddle  rug by Kaylee. It was a school holiday project she made with her Mum and is her 1st quilt. Well done Kaylee.
 
 

 
These items are by Kaylee's big sister Rianne and were made for an assignment. They are from the Regency era.
 
Rianne bought along her very 1st quilt she made when she was 12ys to show us where she started her journey.

"Green Quilt" by Maureen M.  She made it for a friend's 70th birthday, and after was told she was only 69!!!!

"Gypsy Wife" by Maureen L. Her friend Robyn and her became really addicted to making this quilt.  It is a Jen Kingwell Pattern but they found the instructions challenging.  They both completed their tops in just over a month. Whoa!!
