July show & tell

We did something a little different this month, we had a colour theme for show & tell and the colour was red
these runners are by Lesley and were made in memory of her trip to her Aunties 90th Birthday in England.

Here are two Christmas wall-hangings by Madeline.
This wall hanging is called Yellow to Blue: "Have you seen Red?" and is by Helen P, It was made for the Aotearoa Quilters Red Challenge for 2013.
Kathleen E. made this table runner, pattern was from The Cloth Shop.

Sue E. made this at the Taupo Symposium.

This stunning quilt is called Fireball, made by Maureen M. It was made from a magazine pattern and she read the instructions wrong and enlarged it by 150%!!! hence the size.  It has been to world quilts in America.
Another by Maureen M., called Pohutakawa. The pattern was bought at a quilt show in 2011 and she has just finished it.
Bag made by Gabrielle about 2 years ago.

Also by Gabrielle. Was made at a class in New Plymouth at the Bernia Shop about 7yrs ago.

front & back of a very interesting bag by Donna.  It was made in a Greit Lombard class.
This is called "Love of Dad" by Jeanett. It is in memory of her Dad.
"Row by Row" by Veronica, made for a club challenge in 2007.
"Ruby Red" by Lynda. she said it was just one of those quirky things you take an instant like to.
another by Lynda, hand stitched Christmas wall hanging.
"Making Spirits Bright" also by Lynda. Stitched with gold thread, never again she said, it is terrible to stitch with!
"Roses" by Frances. It was started in 2001, from a very small photo in a APQ Magazine. She graphed it up and changed the colour/design/size. What's new? very Frances!!!
A Round Robin top that was started some years ago, by Maureen L/
two red works by Sue F.
"Summer" by Elisabeth, she took inspiration from her garden. Found the pattern in a magazine .
That was a wonderful selection of "Red" theme quilts

A cuddle  rug by Kaylee. It was a school holiday project she made with her Mum and is her 1st quilt. Well done Kaylee.

These items are by Kaylee's big sister Rianne and were made for an assignment. They are from the Regency era.
Rianne bought along her very 1st quilt she made when she was 12ys to show us where she started her journey.
