May Show n Tell 2017

A sample of some members blocks for the Mystery  Challenge run by Amiee's Homestead Quilt shop in Palmerston North.

This is Karl's Quilt" by Donna. He had a special 0 birthday and she has added all his favourite things.

The back of the quilt incorporated a panel.

And a close up of the important label.

Betty B. has had these Amish embroideries for awhile and really does not have the wall space for them so would like to sell them and the money will be for the Vanuatu Project Cyclone Damage Fund which her Daughter & Granddaughters are part of.  The are helping rebuild schools & getting education tools, medical provisions etc .

This wall hanging is called "What Are we Looking At" by Betty. It was inspired by Laurel Birch,  she used her cat and idea of a garden and then as Betty does, did her own thing!

This lovely quilt is by Maureen L. and is called "Nellie Emma". It was a 2016 Club Book Challenge by Barbara Brackmans "Threads of Memory" Maureen put it together her way.

"Mini Fun fair" cot quilt made by JudyP. The pattern is by "Melly & Me" and was made for her daughter's best friend's girl Quinley. Nice & colourful.

A mini iron board & cover by Rosie N.  when she was in Adelaide recently she saw a similar item in a big button shop and it had a price of $120.00 on it and thought I can make that!  Rosie has made it with 2 large table mats and it went together very quickly.

A request was put to our club by the Mid Wives association to see if we could make cot quilts.  They wanted to use the 2nd hand woollen blankets that they had purchased to give to new Mum's. The blankets have been used either as the backing or the batting or had applique added to the front.  A fantastic effort by our club members .
