June Show n Tell.

This month we invited friends from Strafford village Quilters to join us for our club day and we all enjoyed a shared lunch. It was a fun day and also we had a pop up shop from Amiee's from Palmerston North .

The theme for this month was "Applique"

Girls & Boys - by Lesley McFarlane,  This was started in 2004 and finished in 2006.

This was Amy's  first quilt and was made in 2005

These two small wall hangings are by Lesley and the top one was her first attempt to do hand work in 2001. The bottom one is called "Autumn Leaves" and was her first try at Janola spray gun dying and was completed in 2006. She liked the result.

Donna made this one for her husband Howard's 50th birthday, was a club workshop about 12 -14 years ago.

Another by Amy, "Black & White Stars", she chose the fabrics with a nice young man, who became her husband.

Pauline Walton made this red and black quilt.  It was a monthly challenge from Amiee's Palmerston North in about 2018.

This was a Rivercity Quilters Club challenge and was made by Diana Jones.

Love this one.  "Rabbits" by Veronica and was a workshop with Greit Lombard.

"Fresh Cut" Sue Spargo design.  This is from one of our visitors, Sandra  Ryder.  These are her finished blocks.... so far.

Another by Sandra and is called "Spring Singer", the first of a season of singers.

"Sew"  this is a pattern from Buttermilk Basin and was one of Sandra's lock down projects.

Sandra bought the kit for "Boro Rabbits" from Apple Basket and instead of making a cushion she has framed it.  It was beautiful.

Another from the designer Sue Spargo, this is "Home Grown" and was stitched by Jenny Worsley.  It was a block of the month and was started in 2018 and completed in 2021.  She had it quilted by Jacqui Karl.  A lot of stitching in this one.

This is by Heather McLeod.  She quilted all the straight lines and then ran out of inspiration for the edges.

Here is a collection of needle books by Sandra Ryder based on Lynette Anderson's patterns.

These are by Joanne Robinson, one of our visitors.  She made them from a kit gifted by her sister.

"Heather on the Moor"  Was a BOM from Patchwork Passion and is by Margaret Mason from Strafford.  Lovely work.

A Baby's bib by Brenda Lever, a visitor. It is to be a present or her first Granddaughter.

Thread Book, flower garden, by Wendy Williams and was bought as a kit from Apple Basket and stitched by Margaret Mason from Strattford Quilters

Some more needle books by Sandra Ryder.

"My Colourful Garden" designed by Jacqui Karl and was a BOM from Amiee's Quilts and was stitched by Margaret Mason.
