Welcome back everyone, we have a new President, Donna, and a new committee and have started off the year with a lot of activities organized, so exciting times ahead.
Lots of members were busy over the holiday break so we have a lovely varied show n tell for the month.
"Soft & Bright" made from flannel fabrics that Helen had had for ages.
"Plaid Sisters" Helen used up plaid squares that she was given quite a while ago.
"Out of the ark" was a mystery quilt made at Aimee's Homestead Quilts about 3/4 years ago.
"Shoo fly" using up purple scraps.
"Golden Jewel Box" Heather started this but never got to finish it. She had made some of the half square triangle units. Lovely colours, she would of loved it.
"Peaches at the Lake" was a top made by Frances H. and quilted by Helen. Was a Bonnie Hunter Mystery from 2017/20118.
NZ Postcard, by Carol Burgess. Another of Heather's (a deceased member) blocks that Carol joined together and added borders.
"Isolation" by Gail Jory. Gail had cut it all out to sew in isolation when she returned from Australia in April 2021 but never got much done so had now finished it.
"Circles Galore" by Maureen and is a throw for her couch.
"Homegrown" designed by Sue Spargo. This is by Diana Jones, wonderful effort, nice and bright.
"Intertwined Ribbons" another by Karen using up more scraps. Our scrap pile never gets smaller!!
"Wonky Donkey" a children's quilt by Jo C. Made from a quilt kit bought on line and quilted by Jacquie Karl.
"My Colourful Garden", another by Jo C and was a BOM from Aimee's Homestead quilts, pattern by Jacquie Karl and quilted by her as well.
Kinchaku Japanese Traditional rice Bag with Boro stitching by Jo C. Was started at symposium October 2022 Boro class with Australian tutor Jane MacDonald. Is gorgeous.
"Reindeer & Trees" by Annette Bourne and quilted by John Nielson. She used up all her green/red/white Christmas fabric for this lap quilt.
Pieced and quilted by Maureen, the director of the challenge. Will be for her Sister's 75th birthday.
Frances Henderson made these blocks and as she said she was an over achiever cause she made extra, love it.
This quilt is by Veronica.
Lesley McFarlane made this into an Eye spy quilt for a young boy.
