Show n Tell August 2024


 The theme for this month was Teddy Bears and other favourite Soft toys,there was a lovely selection and interesting stories behind their favourite cuddle toy.


This selection  of wall hangings is called Geese in the Garden and the Ladies went to a class at Foxs Cottage, Foxton in February this year and the tutor was Luchelle.  The members who participated in the class were Donna, Mary Sammons Rosie N, Lesley McFarlane,and Veronica.

This one is called Postcard Quilt made with NZ fabrics.  Was made by Veronica and quilted by John Neilson with a fern pattern.

A Woolen Amish Quilt made with 16" woolen squares and was made by Veronica.
 

This one was made by Julie Pratt and was hand stitched, hand embroidered and hand quilted, a real labour of love.

Couture Dresses, and was made by Mary Sammons.  It was a dress panel from Foxs Cottage and was made for a friend's 70th birthday.

This quilt was made from recycled shirts and was made by Lesley McFarlane for her husbands 75th birthday.  The pattern name is delectable mountains.

Scrappy Hexagons. The top was donated by Rosie N. and was quilted by Helen P. for the Te Awhina Quilt Project.
Medallion Star & Flowers. The middle section was donated and the borders and quilting by Helen P. for the Te Awhina Quilt Project.

This one is called Happy Fans and the top was donated by Mary Sammons and quilted by Helen P. for the Te Awhina Quilt Project.

Black & Bright Sampler. These blocks were donated by Frances H. & Karen A.  Was put together and quilted by Helen P. for the Te Awhina Project.

Autumn Flying Geese. The top was made and donated by Maureen L and quilted by Helen P. for the Te Awhina Project.

Blue Friendship Star. The top was donated and has been quilted by Helen P. for the Te
Awhina Project.

Star Cluster is the name of this colourful quilt. The pattern source is  Tula Pink and Rosie N. bought it as a kit, because she loved it. WIP, to be quilted.

A beautiful silk scarf, which belongs to Hester and she hand spun,and hand dyed it.
 
A small wall hanging by Dianne Hay.  She had a family member's army badges and put them together in the wall hanging for her Grandaughter.

Another small wall hanging by Dianne Hay.  It is NZ fabric of Maori Houses.

Dianne Hay has a large selection of Aboriginal fabric and put some together in the wall hanging.
 
A Scrap Quilt which was a joint effort with  some other quilters and put together by Madeline.

and this months raffle was won by Jenny R.
